I want to reach out and feed the hungry. I chose to make sandwiches and pass them out to people that I feel could use them. In order to reach my goal, my family is helping me with this blog and spreading the word. I will be creating an account for contributions towards supplies and charities alike. So, look out for that soon. However, I am hoping that we won't even need that. Especially with your help. I will post as many pictures as I can as I do this project. I will be adding a counter for how many sandwiches I(WE) pass out and I hope that you can help too. Just make one sandwich and pass it to one person in need. I see a lot of people holding out signs on the freeways and on corners. I will look into shelters too.
Also, if you do this, just make a quick note to attach to the sandwich with my blogger web site. This way, if they ever have a chance to look at it online, they will know that I care, even at 6 years old. Maybe they will eventually join our project too.
You can help reach my goal by sending me pictures of you passing out sandwiches and together we can reach out to many people. I am really excited and can hardly wait to see how long it takes. My mom said that 20,000,000 million sandwiches is a lot and wouldn't even fit in our house at one time. Wow! that's a lot! Sounds like a great adventure. 1 sandwich a day or even a week is a lot!

Mufaletta Sandwich Recipe
Behold the glory of the mufaletta sandwich!
This monster is meant to be party food--by which I mean, sliced and shared, preferably with a cold beer, whilst playing a stirring game of billiards. (Wash your hands before taking your next shot).
Ingredients:
A round loaf of a rustic french bread.
olive tapenade (purchased, or make your own by dicing up olives, garlic and olive oil into a paste)
sliced sandwich meats such as turkey, salamie, mortadella, beef--whatever you like but remember this is an Italian sandwich)
sliced red onions
sliced cheese such as swiss or provolone
leaves of fresh spinach and/or lettuce; some basil would be nice
Directions: Slice the top off a large round of french bread. Reach inside and pull out the center portion of the bread, so that the crust is hollowed out. (NOTE: Save this interior bread for panzanella salad!)
Spread tapenade on the bottom of the interior of the loaf of bread. Now layer the meats, cheeses, onions and greens, alternating colors and flavors. Finish with another generous spread of tapenade. Return the "lid" of bread to the loaf.
Slice the loaf in half, exposing the layered sandwich interior. Then slice into individual servings or allow your guests to help themselves.
Messy. Good. Mufaletta.

Dear Keith,
Great idea! I know there is a lot of hungry people out there. I would like to help too.
I will work with my family this week and hand out 5 sandwiches (to start). It won't take us long to make 20 million. I'm thinking roast beef with mustard and lettuce and tomatoes. Wow, that just made me hungry.
